How to start the Bazlama recipe?
Pick the mixing bowl. Now put sugar, salt, yeast, warm milk, and warm water in the bowl and start mixing it. The flour and yogurt are combined in a large mixing container. The dough will be soft but not sticky when finished. When you are done with the Dough making process, put it on a lightly floured surface, and start making small round balls. Once done cover it with a moist towel for 3 hours to rise at room temperature.
After 3 hours uncover the dough balls. Now sprinkle the dry flour on the flat surface and by using your hands, flatten each one as you do for pizza. You can even use the 9″ glass pie dish to press the balls of dough for an even flattened result. Once done with the flattening process, cover the flattened dough with a moist towel for the next 15 minutes.
Now preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Note: Starting with a medium heat is very important for better results.
Pick the first flattened round and place it on the skillet. Make sure you keep an eye out. Bake it well for 1 minute until you see the brown spots appear on the bottom. You will notice after a few seconds that the bread inflates like a balloon and begins to rise.
Note: This might not be the case if you use a thin-bottomed pan.
It is fun and it smells very nice and delicious. Now turn the bread over and bake for another minute. Remove the bread from the pan and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel to keep it warm.
When you are done with the first one repeat the same for the other remaining. For the remaining leftover flatbreads, an airtight container is the best way to store them.
Tip: Do not put your skillet or griddle on high temperature. Try to keep it to medium otherwise, you will get it to burn.
You have to keep the one thing in mind that constantly turning the dough over will give you perfect and required results.
